The festive seasons has been and gone, but there’s still plenty on in SA to keep you busy and entertained this January.
Adelaide International, Memorial Drive
3-15 January
Women’s world number one Ash Barty and reigning Adelaide International champion Iga Swiatek return to the court at Memorial Drive. They’re joined by former US Open champion Marin Cilic, and fan favourites Gael Monfils and James Duckworth. You can see all your favourite tennis stars smash, volley and serve their way to victory. Family Fish Day, Streaky Bay
8 January
Enjoy a free family day on the Eyre Peninsula’s iconic Streaky Bay Jetty. Cast a line for your chance to win a prize for your catch. Couldn’t even snag a rusty anchor or stinky boot? It doesn’t matter. There’s even a prize for the unluckiest angler on the day. A sausage sizzle and refreshments will be available from 9.30am. Find out more here.
Santos Festival of Cycling, across SA
21-29 January
Celebrate cycling in SA and catch all the two-wheel action replacing the Santos Tour Down Under. The nine-day program offers more than 25 events and brings together road and track cycling, BMX racing, mountain biking, paracycling, cyclocross and more. A three-stage men’s and women’s road race will travel through the Barossa, Adelaide Hills and Fleurieu Peninsula regions. The City of Adelaide Festival Village in Victoria Park/Pakapakanthi will also host activities galore from 26-29 January. To find out where you can see all the action, click here.
The Big Wedgie, West Beach
Daily until Sunday 30 January then every weekend in February
The Big Wedgie is a family-friendly event featuring four inflatable waterslides, including the world’s tallest and most extreme slide. There’s also a three-lane racer waterslide so you can compete against others to see who emerges victorious. Book tickets and find out more here.
