Wow! It turns out sa move readers love their TV and movie cars. Our first quiz was a smash hit, so of course we had to come up with another one.

The average score for the first quiz was about 8.5, so we had to dig a little deeper this time to make this one a bit trickier.

1. The car in this film – a 1958 Plymouth Fury – had a mean streak a mile wide, yet its owner was still obsessed with it (or perhaps possessed by it). Based on the book of the same name, this film’s lead non-human character could drive and repair itself.*

2. The beautiful star of this teen comedy – a 1961 Ferrari 250 GT California – was a replica in real life. In this film, the protagonists take the car for a joy ride during which 316 miles are added to the odometer, which they try to rewind by putting the car’s wheels in reverse.*

3. The lead character in this classic TV show was a bumbling fool, but at least he had a nice car – a red 1965 Sunbeam Tiger two-seat roadster. This one came with a machine gun, smoke screen, radar tracking and an ejector seat.*

4. Another legendary red Ferrari, but this time on the small screen. Set in tropical Hawaii, the first few seasons of this show featured a Ferrari 308 GTS with a targa top. The show’s star had to turn down the role of Indiana Jones because of filming commitments.*

8. In this classic road drama film, two friends escape their mundane lives in a 1966 Ford Thunderbird and end up in all sorts of strife. There was no hope of a sequel after the ending of this movie.*

9. We first saw this car – a 1977 Mini 1000 Mark IV – in episode three of this classic British comedy TV series. Its distinct colouring makes it instantly recognisable, and its owner proved it could be driven from the roof with ropes, a broom and a mop.*
