When the sun comes out to play, athletes from across the globe put their game faces on and head to SA. Here are 7 sporting events you can catch in our state this summer.
Bay Sheffield
When: 26–28 December 2018
Where: Colley Tce, Glenelg
Sprinters from around the world lace up their runners to compete in SA’s iconic footrace. Head to Glenelg to cheer on the athletes during the 3-day sports carnival, which has been running for more than 130 years.
Adelaide United home games
When: 26 December 2018; 5, 9, 27 January 2019; 2, 16 February 2019
Where: Coopers Stadium, Hindmarsh

World Tennis Challenge
When: 7–8 January
Where: Memorial Dr, Adelaide
Summer serves up some serious competitive sport in SA, and tennis is no exception. This month, current tennis stars and legends will take to the court for the 2-day World Tennis Challenge, which is hosted in Adelaide in the lead-up to the Australian Open. RAA members can watch all the on-court action with 15% off tickets.
Santos Tour Down Under
When: 10–20 January
Where: All over SA
The world’s best cyclists will take to the streets as they pedal their way through Adelaide’s suburbs and surrounding towns for the annual Tour Down Under. The race typically starts and finishes with Adelaide city street circuits, with stages 1–5 held in regional South Australia.
Gillette One Day International: Australia V India
When: 15 January
Where: Adelaide Oval
You know summer’s well and truly here when your days are spent either watching cricket or playing a game of your own in the backyard. This summer, RAA members can get 25% off Silver and Bronze tickets to see all the live green and gold action against India in the One Day International.
ISPS Handa Women’s Australian Open
When: 14–17 February
Where: The Grange Golf Club, Grange
Professional female golfers from around the world are set to tee off in Adelaide for the ISPS Handa Women’s Australian Open. Aside from watching the pros, there are also golf lessons for the little ones and chances to meet the world’s best.
Superloop Adelaide 500
When: 28 February–3 March
Where: Victoria Park, Adelaide
From supercars to superstars, Australia’s largest domestic motorsport event is back in Adelaide with 4 days of on-track adrenaline before American rockers Red Hot Chili Peppers headline the after-race concert on the final day.
