Just ask Littlehampton CFS what a few new helmets and basic fire-fighting equipment can mean for a small brigade in the Adelaide Hills.
Thanks to our Regional Safety Grants program, the brigade has been able to buy new breathing apparatus and lights to use at road accidents.
“We’ve used the lighting a number of times already during structure fires at Nairne and Callington, and it’s meant the crew can get the job done safely in conditions where visibility can be challenging,” Littlehampton CFS Brigade Captain Greg Stone said.
There are plenty of good causes out there, and primary schools, surf life-saving clubs and other not-for-profit organisations have also benefited from the program so far.
In fact, more than $300,000 has been provided to over 90 community groups throughout SA’s regions since the program launched six years ago.
Applications for the 2018-19 Regional Safety Grants are now open.
