Local charity Backpacks 4 SA Kids has set some hefty goals for this year’s Christmas Program, but with your participation they’re sure to succeed in bringing some much-needed joy to vulnerable young South Australians this festive season.
Backpacks 4 SA Kids is a non-profit organisation providing essential supplies to children in emergency care, homeless youth and families who’ve fled domestic violence.
Founder and General Manager Rachael Zaltron established the charity’s Christmas Program in 2014 to support kids from newborn to 18 years old, who’d come into emergency care or were away from their families during the festive season.
This year, RAA is proud to be partnering with Backpacks 4 SA Kids’ Christmas Program with all our shops accepting donations. The samotor team caught up with Rachael at a recent volunteer packing session to find out more about the program and how you can get involved.
Presents for Backpacks 4 SA Kids Christmas Program can be donated at any RAA shops up until Friday, 17 December.
Books and clothing aren’t required as children receive these items in the organisation’s regular backpack program. Visit the Backpacks 4 SA Kids website for more information about what presents will be accepted.
