Our patrols are here for you for more than just a flat battery – or that embarrassing moment when you lock your keys in your car. (We've all done that at least once, right?) Here are six different situations where we can lend a helping hand.
Lights out
It’s illegal to drive a car at night if the headlights and taillights aren’t working correctly (you could cop a $238 fine, $60 Victims of Crime Levy and one demerit point for that). But what if you notice your lights are out when you’re already on the road?
An RAA Patrol may be able to replace it for you. We carry a range of bulbs and can change most types of external car lights.
Keys gone flat?
What happens if your key remote or immobiliser goes flat? How do you get in or start your car?
In some cases we can override the immobiliser and can also replace the battery in most key fobs too.
Bike and mobility scooter breakdowns
If a breakdown interrupts your ride, our patrols will do their best to get you rolling again.
From punctures to flat batteries, bicycle and mobility scooter breakdowns are also covered as part of your Road Service membership.
Helping hand
RAA Patrols attended more than this many breakdowns last financial year.
Kids and pets locked in the car
The only thing worse than locking your key in your car is if your kids or pets are stuck in there too, especially as we head into summer.
RAA Patrols respond to more than 150 of these call-outs during the warmer months alone. We send out a priority patrol and will call Emergency Services if needed.
When you’re interstate
Our yellow vans are a common sight on SA roads, but are you covered when you cross state borders?
Yep! We’ve partnered up with our sister clubs across the country so you’re covered no matter what state you’re driving in.
Unwanted passenger?
Have an animal stuck in your car or engine?
On average, RAA rescues at least one wild animal from a car each week. So if you find yourself in a hairy situation, give us a call.
